Our educational structure

We're proud to educate children aged 2.5 to 11 years. Our skilled teachers customise the curriculum, teaching methods, and school environment for our pupils. We also take pride in the great education we offer as pupils progress through these stages:

  • Nursery & Early Years (Ages 2.5 to 4.5 years, Year Groups Nursery to Reception): Children here learn the basics and slowly start studying subjects like math, reading, and technology.

  • Lower School (Ages 6 to 7 years, Year Groups 1 to 2): Our Lower School provides a more structured curriculum with various learning opportunities beyond the classroom.

  • Upper School (Ages 8 to 11 years, Year Groups 3 to 6): In Upper School, pupils prepare for high school and gain more responsibility for their education. Our success in helping pupils get into selective state and private schools is unmatched.

Join us on a personal tour of the School

We would be delighted to invite you to our wonderful school and share with you what makes Oxford House School the best educational start you can give your child.

🌟Get-in day for Oliver!🎭

We are so excited to finally be in the theatre ready for our production of Oliver! on Saturday, that we thought we'd give you a sneak peak of behind the scenes!

There is so much work that goes into putting on a production and our Performing Arts team work endlessly to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
The pupils have worked so hard during rehearsals and we can't wait for them to get performing on that stage 🤩

Screen Time vs Screen Use

At Oxford House School, we aim to promote the benefits of using technology within our classrooms, but we know there is sometimes a misconception about how this works. Understandably, parents are concerned about the amount of 'screen time' their children are having.

Screen time is the passive consumption of content, such as watching videos, scrolling through social media, and playing non-educational games.

We like to focus on 'screen use', which emphasises the power of interactive and purposeful uses of technology to enhance learning and actively engage pupils. This could be through coding exercises, educational games, research projects, film and animation, and much more! Through active learning, our pupils can develop critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, and tech skills, all of which are highly valuable in the modern world.

At Oxford House School, we are able to maximise the benefits of technology by focusing on 'screen use' over 'screen time' and by giving our pupils access to interactive whiteboards in every classroom, tablets, and personal laptops throughout their school journey. This enables them to develop their skills and activities, preparing our pupils to thrive in our rapidly evolving world.
